‘Monster Pumpkin’: This Huge Vegetable Weighs “About The Same As 17.5 adult men”

Growing vegetable is an art that is driven by passion. We have often come across people who grow unique vegetables on field. While some experiment and innovate hybrid plants, others grow huge-sized vegetables and fruits. Recently, we came across where a farmer from Italy grew a “monster ” that weighs heavier than small-sized car. This huge vegetable, weighing 1226 kg, broke all the world records. That’s not all. According to the official website of Guinness World Records, this pumpkin weighs as much as 17.5 adult men. Yes, you heard us!

This huge-sized pumpkin was grown by Stefano Cutrupi, a farmer from Tuscany. According to a report on the official website of Guinness World Records, he has been growing giant pumpkins since 2008. This year’s pumpkin was presented at the 10th edition of the Campionato della Zuccone pumpkin festival in Peccioli, near Pisa, on 26 September 2021. The assessment was made by representatives from the Great Pumpkin Commonwealth, “who confirmed that the quality of the produce is good enough to be entered for competition”.

GWR further reports that Cutrupi claimed the second and third places at the Lo Zuccone contest, with two other entries that weighed 978.99 kg and 794.51 kg respectively.

When asked for to grow the next record pumpkin, Cutrupi said, “There are no secrets”. He further said that it is all about pursuing “the goal” with method and perseverance.

“I felt incredible emotions from the moment I saw the pumpkin arrive on the truck. In reality, no one really knows the of a pumpkin until it is certified on the scale, but seeing the size of that pumpkin and it, I immediately felt a shiver inside me. It had to be the new ! I was convinced of it,” stated one of the judges at the festival, Emanuele Garofano.
